Comments about Celestron Solar Observer 60 Telescope:
10 minutes and I was up and running. Grandson (who's 4 yrs. old) had the best time looking at the sun. This was an excellent buy for the price.

Comments about Celestron Solar Observer 60 Telescope:
This was a way to get a solar filter before the venus transit, but as a standard telescope, I wouldn't recommend it. For the same size refractor, the celestron guidescope gives far better images, even with the same eyepiece that came with my C11.and the diagonal replaced by an extension tube from the guidescope.
On receiving it, I could barely make out the sunspots with the included accessories, but I could at least see them and I will have the filter I need for using my guidescope to watch the Venus transit.
The mount for this telescope at least has the benefit that it can be very very short allowing my 3 year old to easily check out the moon, but the slightest touch sends this thing shivering on its lightweight mount.
