Comments about Celestron Solar Observer 70 Telescope:
Nice light package, backpack is nicely padded to protect the scope. THe only reason I give it 4 out of 5 stars is that the tripod just doesn't cut it, I know that it was made light to keep the weight down but I'd rather have a little more weight from the tripod just to get more stability, any bit of wind and the telescope starts shaking, I put the scope on one of my heavier tripods and the shaking problem was gone, otherwise it's a nice package and worth the money, the telescope itself is excellent.

Comments about Celestron Solar Observer 70 Telescope:
I got this for viewing the Transit of Venus. The filter does what it supposed to do. The scope itself does what it suppose to do. For a price like this there is not too much to complain. The mount though is pretty much useless.

Comments about Celestron Solar Observer 70 Telescope:
at [$] this telescope is a great value I think. Setup very easy. The only thing that I was not dancing up and down for joy about was that it's so light, breathing on it hard seemed to be enough to move it out of alignment, I ended up anchoring the tripod with gum

Comments about Celestron Solar Observer 70 Telescope:
Inexpensive little telescope. Two fixed-focus eye pieces. Very cheap and flimsy tripod. That's likely to make it all fit into a small backpack which is included. Can be used with a regular tripod, though the "foot" on the scope only fits in one position, in line with the telescope. Fortunately, we have two tripods, one supporting the orthogonal position and one the in-line. Considering you'd have to pay some $40+s/h for the solar filter alone, it's an ok deal.
Service and delivery comments:
Initially, talked to a gal on the phone. Very friendly and helpful. Buying and checkout on website without problems. Delivered on time. I would use this store again and recommend it.
